Over the course of 25 years an urban farm has come to surround a century-old home in downtown Southern Pines.
With guinea hens, chickens, worm towers, and a few choice cats, Raven's Wing Acre is awash with wildlife. Birds and squirrels are in every tree and a water feature houses amphibious creatures as well.
Edible "weeds" are cultivated, as well as various fig and pecan trees, herbs, and roses. Everything is pesticide-free, using composts, worm teas, and manure to keep plants happy and healthy.
